Organisations involving sports, Scouting and Guides, school trips, retirees looking for excursion and entertainment, and a variety of others have used it. The costs have been minimal for them because the minibus drivers have been unpaid, frequently coming from their own organisation provided they have the equivalent of a Midas qualification. So, all for a small fee and their own provision of fuel (unless they wished to pay by the mile) many have enjoyed this service.
Now, as Desborough and Rothwell Community Transport, this charitable trust has a brand-new Minibus. Like the original, it seats 16 including the driver, is equipped to take wheelchairs if required, and has a rear tail-lift.
The minibus has been bought through the generosity of the Jessie Cleaver Trust which is dedicated primarily to helping the elderly of Desborough and Rothwell. We intend to continue with the same rules of hire.
More drivers would be welcome! Enquiries and bookings may be made through 01536 763916.
